Hickory, NC – Women’s Resource Center has recently developed a new support group just for teen girl’s grades 7– 12 which begins Tuesday evening, September 19, 2006. The group entitled “Just for Teen Girls,” will meet the First and Third Tuesday of every month, from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at WRC, 125 3rd Street NE, in Hickory.

Facilitated by Shelley Caldwell, Social Worker for DSS Lincoln County and Mental Health Professional, this group will allow a safe environment for young women to discuss issues confronting them in the daily lives. Handling stress, peer pressure, and conflicts are just some of the areas that can be explored to find appropriate solutions, and to learn effective decision making and assertive communication skills.
