Premier Fundraiser Set for Women’s Resource Center

logoHickory, NC – Women’s Resource Center’s Premier Fundraiser will be held May 2, 2006 at Park Inn in Hickory. The evening’s Featured Speaker will be Lorie Garland. A motivational speaker, Ms. Garland strives to influence and empower women to step beyond their comfort zone both personally and professionally to live life to its fullest. She recently co-authored the book “Your Exceptional Life Begins Now” which will be on hand at the Dinner with proceeds of the sales going back to WRC.

WRC hopes to raise $28,000.00 at this year’s Dinner. Thank you to all our sponsors:

WRC Holds Effective Leadership Workshop

Hickory, NC – Women’s Resource Center in conjunction with Hickory Metro Higher Education Center, will present the program “Jewels in Our Crown: The 5 E’s of Leadership.” The May Lunch & Learn will be held on May 25, 2006 at HMHEC from 11:30a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A $10 program fee includes lunch and the deadline for registration is May 19th. Suzette Plaisted, Executive Director of American Red Cross of Catawba Valley and facilitator of organizational management and leadership training, will conduct this interactive workshop. She will illustrate 5 key points (Excellence, Empowerment, Ethics, Empathy, and Enthusiasm) that people can utilize to become more effective leaders. Join Ms. Plaisted for this hands-on workshop to build leadership skills that can be implemented into daily life.
