WRC Presents Rainforest Nutrition Program

HICKORY, NC - Women’s Resource Center will host a program on the health benefits of herbal nutrition from the Rainforest on Tuesday, October 25, 2005 from 11:30am until 1:00pm. This program is hosted through WRC’s Lunch & Learn series, and is for anyone interested in obtaining optimal health through plant-based nutritional formulas while helping to preserve the Rainforest. The fee is $10 with lunch provided, and pre-registration is required.

Jean Bennett, representative of Amazon Herb Company, will share how the nutrition from herbal products produced from plants form the Rainforest, protects us from the effects of stress, excessive caloric intake, highly processed foods, and exposure to environmental toxins. By working with indigenous rainforest communities in the harvesting of herbs, the Amazon Herb Company has created a new income source for the area, and has helped to preserve over 300,000 acres of Rainforest land.

The Lunch & Learn series is the last Tuesday of every month and is just one of the many programs Women’s Resource Center provides focusing on life skills, health and wellness, and personal and professional development. The Center was opened in 1986 and has since been a place of resource and support to women and their families of this community.
