Recipients included Dr. Grace Auten, Kitty Barnes, Andrea Benfield, Carolyn J. Connor, Joyce Corbett, Maria Daily, Dr. Karen Dill, Rebecca Inglefield, C. Jane Johnson, Rosemary King, Lisa Miller, Dr. Anita Montes, Polly Pearson, Thea Sinclair, and Kate Weaver. The LWVCV were honored to recognize these women for their extraordinary contributions to their communities regarding women's issues, education, business, health, advocacy, and philanthropy. A Lifetime Achievement award was also presented to current League President Fran Syptak.The evening included a reading of the Catawba County Commissioner's resolution to August 26th as Women's Equality Day in Catawba County by Kitty Barnes, and a historical dramatization by Sylvia Ratliffe as Sojourner Truth. The reception was followed by a film screening at the Carolina Theatre of the award-winning HBO film Iron Jawed Angels which focuses on the efforts of womens suffrage leaders Alice Paul and Lucy Burns.
